About the audition:
-
Auditions will be held in 30-minute blocks throughout the evening allowing auditioners to perform scenes together, if they wish or are asked. As part of the audition form please select the audition block that you are available for (or if you intend to submit a self-tape instead). Auditions may be videoed for later review. The director of the show will be in the room, with possible additional ISTC personnel for reading and other duties. Callbacks, if needed, will be scheduled via the email you provide below. Any video submissions need. to be sent to production@iowastage.org by 5 PM on April 5th.​

First Table Read: Thursday, April 23rd from 6:30-9:30 PM. Rehearsals will run Sunday - Thursday evenings beginning Monday, April 27th.

SHELBY HINKLEY - (14, Female) Awkward, intense. President of the Tobey Maguire Fan Club. The girl in middle school who eats lunch by herself in the bathroom. Probably some orthodontic work.
*Actor needs to be 18+. Stage intimacy is needed in this role.
​
TOBEY MAGUIRE - (28-29, Male) The famous actor. In the height of his Spiderman fame. Nasty alcoholic and drug addict. Also plays Shelby's Father.
*Stage intimacy is needed in this role.

THIRD ACTOR - (any gender)

Brenda Dee Cankles (40s-50s) Real estate, agent, corn hole enthusiast, silly woman

Tobey Maguire Posters: Magazine posters that appear in Shelby's and Tobey's imagination.

Shelby's Mom: (30s-40s) Glues to her loveseat, perpetually watching daytime TV and eating yogurt
